Mutant Alien Assault is a fast space game where you fight aliens inside a ship. You stand in a small room with platforms and machines. At the same time, strange creatures spawn in and start chasing you. Your job is to grab glowing fuel rods and carry them to the reactor in the middle of the room. If you get all the fuel in, the ship can jump away and the level ends. If the aliens hurt you too many times, you fall, and the level is over.
You move with the keyboard and aim with the mouse. Your hero starts with a simple gun, but new weapons appear during the level. You pick them up and test how they work. Some guns shoot wide, others shoot far, and a few fire big blasts that can hurt you if you stand too close.
