About Go Go Goblin 2

I stumbled across Go Go Goblin 2 the other day, and I’ve got to admit, it felt like rediscovering that giddy rush from old-school platformers. You slide into the worn leather boots of Sprigg, a mischievous goblin with an insatiable appetite for shiny treasure. From the opening level’s mossy caverns to the dizzying heights of cloud-pierced tower ruins, the game funnels you through bright, colorful stages that are equal parts challenge and charm.

What really hooked me was the move set Sprigg brings to the table. You’ve got your standard run-and-jump, of course, but the double-dash mechanic—complete with a little spark effect—means you can pull off some satisfying midair juggles on enemies. Then there are those mini-boss battles sprinkled throughout: a lumbering stone golem, a sneaky phantom spider, and an epic showdown against a water elemental that practically turns the screen into a storm. Collecting gems to upgrade your little goblin’s magic spells and health bar keeps things feeling fresh, too.

Audio and visuals get a big thumbs-up from me. The pixel art is crisp without going overboard, and every level has its own distinct color palette—emerald greens in the forest levels, warm oranges in the desert sections, cool blues for ice caverns. The soundtrack is pure chiptune bliss, with melodies that you’ll find humming unconsciously even after you put the controller down. I wasn’t expecting voice clips, but the goblin’s cheeky chuckle every time he lands a critical hit is a fun touch that makes the whole thing feel more alive.

On top of the main adventure, Go Go Goblin 2 throws in timed challenges, secret rooms hiding bonus stages, and even a two-player couch co-op mode that’s perfect for goofing off with a friend. If you’re the type who loves to hunt down every hidden collectible or beat your own speedrun record, this one scratches that itch nicely. Whether you’ve got a spare ten minutes or an evening to kill, it’s easy to drop in and get lost in Sprigg’s mischievous world.
