Chaos Faction – Enter the Arena and Knock Everyone Out
Chaos Faction is a fast 2D arena fighting game where colorful characters battle with punches, kicks, weapons, power-ups, and whatever else appears during the fight. Rather than following one long side-scrolling road, battles take place inside separate arenas. Each arena has its own layout and can create different dangers during combat.
The game includes 18 characters, 29 weapons, and 15 levels. Many of them need to be unlocked by playing through the campaign.
Fight Through the Campaign
Campaign mode sends you through a series of arena battles.
Each stage has its own opponent and theme. Defeating the boss of an arena can unlock additional characters, weapons, and stages.
The controls give you several basic actions without turning every fight into a long list of button combinations. The Left and Right arrows move your fighter. Up jumps, while Down blocks incoming attacks. Z and X perform your main attacks.
Weapons can appear during a match and quickly change who has the advantage.
A fighter who starts with only close-range attacks can suddenly grab a powerful weapon. Health items and other useful pickups can also appear, so controlling the useful parts of the arena matters.
Try Deathmatch and Survival
Campaign is only one way to play Chaos Faction.
Deathmatch lets you set up your own battle. You can choose teams, rules, and other settings before sending the fighters into the arena. Local multiplayer also lets friends fight on the same computer.
Survival has a different goal. Instead of beating one campaign opponent and moving on, you try to defeat as many enemies as possible before your fighter finally goes down.
The arenas themselves can become part of the fight. Platforms affect where you can move, while stage hazards can create trouble even when an opponent is not attacking.
Chaos Faction works best when you do more than stand beside an enemy and press attack. Jump away from danger, block at useful moments, grab weapons before your opponent reaches them, and use the shape of the arena to stay alive.
With several modes, many unlockable fighters, and a large weapon collection, the game gives you plenty of ways to create chaotic battles without making the basic controls difficult to learn.
