Mad Day

Mad Day mixes driving, shooting, running, and upgrades in one side-scrolling action game. You play as Bob, a tough fighter whose pet octopus Fluffy gets kidnapped by aliens. Bob does not plan to let them get away with it. He loads up an armed vehicle and heads after the invaders.

Most of the action starts behind the wheel. Bob’s vehicle moves across rough roads filled with aliens, walls, flying enemies, traps, and other hazards. The truck carries weapons that let you attack enemies while moving.

Drive as Far as You Can

Mad Day uses a distance-based setup. Each attempt gives you a chance to travel farther than before.

Jumping helps the vehicle clear obstacles and dangerous sections. Rockets deal with aliens that block the road. Some enemies stay on the ground while others attack from the air.

The vehicle cannot survive forever. Damage slowly wears it down. Once the car can no longer continue, Bob does not simply give up. He gets out and continues the fight on foot.

This changes the way the game feels. The driving section lets you move fast and smash through trouble. The walking section leaves Bob more exposed.

Use Coins to Become Stronger

Coins collected during a run can pay for improvements. You can strengthen the vehicle, weapons, armor, and other useful equipment. Better gear helps Bob survive longer on later attempts.

The garage gives the game a steady sense of progress. A failed run can still help because the money collected during that attempt may buy an important upgrade.

Weapons can become stronger. Armor can help the vehicle handle more punishment. Other improvements make it easier to push deeper into alien territory.

Mad Day also includes boss fights. These battles require more than simply driving forward. Bosses can take more damage and create dangerous attacks that need careful jumping and shooting.

The controls stay easy to learn. Jumping and firing make up most of the action. The challenge comes from deciding when to use each move.

Mad Day works well because it keeps changing between driving, shooting, jumping, and running on foot. The simple rescue story gives the action a clear goal, while upgrades give you a reason to keep trying after a difficult run.
