Pick a Country and Step Onto the Ice
Puppet Hockey Battle is a one-on-one ice hockey game built around short matches and simple controls. You begin by choosing a national team. Countries include Canada, Finland, Sweden, Russia, Germany, the United States, and several others. The game then selects an opponent and sends both puppet players onto a small ice rink.
Each player controls one large-headed hockey character. There are no full teams skating around the rink. Your puppet handles the attacking, defending, jumping, and shooting alone.
A normal match lasts 60 seconds. You need to score more goals than your opponent before the clock reaches zero. A tied score can lead to a short overtime period, where the next goal becomes extremely important.
Learn the Few Controls That Matter
The controls are easy to remember. The left and right arrow keys move your hockey player across the rink. The up arrow makes the puppet jump. The F or J key can hit the puck in common versions of the game.
Simple controls do not mean every match feels easy. The puck can move quickly after a strong hit. It can also bounce into awkward positions.
Jumping becomes useful when the puck travels above stick height. A well-timed jump can block a dangerous shot before it reaches your goal.
Attack Without Leaving the Goal Open
It is tempting to spend the whole match chasing the puck toward the other net. That can leave your own goal completely open.
Good positioning helps. Moving back after a failed attack can stop the opponent from scoring an easy goal. Staying close enough to the puck also gives you another chance to shoot.
The small rink makes these changes happen fast. One moment you may have a clear shot at the opponent’s goal. A few seconds later you may need to rush back and defend.
Keep Winning to Continue
Winning sends you forward to another match against a different national team. Losing means you need another attempt before continuing your run.
The short match length makes Puppet Hockey Battle easy to start without a long setup. The challenge comes from improving your timing.
You need to judge when to move forward, when to jump, and when to swing the stick. Hitting the puck hard does not always create the best shot. Sometimes a small change in position makes a much bigger difference.
