Mountain Maniac – Send Giant Boulders Down the Mountain and Destroy the Town
Mountain Maniac is a funny destruction game where you control an angry mountain man who wants to cause trouble in the village below. Instead of fighting enemies with ordinary weapons, he uses a large hammer to break huge boulders away from the mountain.
The rocks roll downhill, smashing trees, cars, buildings, and anything else in their path.
Your goal is to cause enough destruction before running out of boulders. However, the police become interested in stopping your mountain man as the damage increases.
Meet the Angry Mountain Man
The adventure begins with a bearded mountain man standing high above a peaceful town.
He has a powerful hammer and a bad temper.
The village below contains houses, roads, vehicles, and other objects.
Your character decides to send enormous rocks crashing down the mountainside.
You need to choose where to stand before releasing each boulder.
The direction and size of the rock affect how much damage it can cause.
Smash the Mountain with Your Hammer
Use the Left and Right Arrow keys to move the mountain man.
Press and hold X to prepare a hammer strike.
The longer you hold the button, the more powerful your swing becomes.
Release the key when the hammer reaches its strongest point.
A well-timed strike creates a larger boulder with greater destructive power.
You can also use the Down Arrow to swing the hammer.
Try to release the rock when the hammer turns bright red to produce a powerful hit.
Guide the Boulder Downhill
After breaking a boulder loose, you can influence its movement.
Use the arrow keys to guide the rolling rock left or right.
The controls do not allow you to stop the boulder completely.
Instead, you make small adjustments to help it hit useful targets.
Try steering toward groups of buildings or other objects.
A rock that travels through an empty section of the mountain may not produce enough destruction.
Fill Your Rage Meter
Mountain Maniac includes a rage meter that increases as your boulder causes damage.
The more destruction you create, the more rage your character gains.
A fuller meter gives you greater control over the rolling rock.
This can help you reach additional targets farther down the mountain.
You need to balance the size of your boulder with the direction it travels.
A large rock can cause plenty of damage, but sending it along the wrong path may waste its potential.
Watch Out for the Police
You have five boulders to cause the required amount of destruction during a round.
Afterward, police officers climb the mountain to stop you.
Use your hammer to knock them away before they reach your character.
The challenge becomes harder during later rounds because more officers appear.
You also need to destroy a greater portion of the town to continue.
Failing to reach the required destruction target or allowing the police to catch you costs a life.
Cause More Damage with Better Planning
Look at the town below before releasing a rock.
Try to find a route with several objects close together.
Hold the hammer long enough to create a powerful boulder, then guide it toward the busiest part of the town.
Mountain Maniac combines exaggerated cartoon destruction with a strange rock-steering challenge. Its limited boulders, rage meter, and police encounters make every hammer strike important.
