About This Game

Dark Base: Real Time Strategy puts you in charge of a space army in a top-down battlefield setting. You lead human forces against waves of alien creatures on a distant planet. The goal is to clear out alien nests, secure abandoned military bases, and build a strong presence. You gather resources, construct buildings, and train marines to protect your outposts. The controls are simple—move the camera with keyboard keys and manage your troops and buildings with the mouse. The game gives off the feel of old-school real-time strategy games but keeps it fast and direct.

There are seven missions, each with its own objective. Some missions focus on defending your base, while others challenge you to wipe out enemy hives or capture new ground. You begin with a few soldiers, but as you mine more resources, you can deploy harvesters, train new marines, and unlock stronger weapons. Planning your build order and unit placement becomes important fast. Aliens attack in groups, and if you leave a side unprotected, it can fall apart quickly. Every new mission raises the stakes and teaches you to think a little differently than the last.

The whole thing feels set in a tense sci-fi world. The visual style is clean and gritty, with a mix of dark terrain and flashing gunfire. You’re not just clicking and building—you’re reacting, adapting, and keeping a close watch on every fight. The pace stays tight, with quick transitions between missions and no long wait times. You can see your strategy pay off or fall apart depending on how you manage your base and respond to danger. It’s short, but it keeps your attention the whole way through.
