An Alien With a Dangerous Destiny
Casus is a pixel-style puzzle platform game about an alien creature exploring an unfamiliar planet.
The creature does not know that a prophecy says it is destined to destroy the world.
Your job is to guide the alien through dangerous areas filled with traps, enemies, and unusual platform puzzles. What makes the game different is one powerful ability. You can flip the entire level upside down.
Turn the World Upside Down
Press C, Spacebar, or Down to flip the level.
The ground becomes the ceiling and the ceiling becomes the ground. This changes where your character can walk and opens routes that seemed impossible only moments earlier.
The flip is not just a visual trick.
Many puzzles depend on using gravity from both directions.
A platform that is too high from one side may become easy to reach after the world turns over. A dangerous floor can become something you pass above.
Learning when to flip is the heart of Casus.
Jump and Fight When Needed
The arrow keys control movement.
Press X or Up to jump. Z performs a punch.
The alien is not alone on the planet.
Turrets, red-shelled creatures, fast-moving beasts, and pink octopus-like enemies can block the path. You need to decide whether to avoid a threat or get close enough to attack.
Simply jumping onto enemies does not work like it does in many platform games.
That makes the punch more important.
Treat Every Area Like a Puzzle
Casus mixes action with careful movement.
A turret may control a section of the screen. Flipping the level can change your approach to it. Another room may contain enemies and platforms arranged so that normal movement cannot get you through safely.
Checkpoints help reduce the amount of progress lost after a mistake.
Learn to Think in Two Directions
The world-flipping mechanic changes the way you look at every room.
Instead of asking only how to jump higher, you also need to consider what the room looks like when gravity is reversed.
Casus keeps its controls small but builds difficult puzzles around them.
Move, jump, punch, and flip the world.
Those four actions are enough to create a strange platform adventure filled with enemies, traps, narrow routes, and areas that only make sense once you learn to look at the level from both directions.
