Get to Know About Aladdin

I remember the first time I slipped into Aladdin’s shoes—or should I say slippers—and darted across those lush palace rooftops. The colors really pop, and there’s this hand-drawn quality that makes every background feel like it jumped straight out of a Saturday morning cartoon. You can almost hear the hustle of Agrabah’s markets and the distant twinkle of the sultan’s palace as you swing your scimitar, and it all feels ridiculously inviting.

What’s great is how the controls manage to stay tight as you run, jump, and duck under obstacles. You’ve got your basic slash, but don’t forget Abu, who tags along to help you grab apples or snatch treasure. Once you find the magic carpet, things really get interesting—swooping through cave ruins and dodging fireballs gives a nice change of pace from the usual platform action. It’s one of those games where you discover little secrets tucked behind every wall or under every ledge.

And the boss fights? They hit just the right level of challenge. Each showdown has its own quirky pattern—whether you’re fending off marksmen or tangling with the Sultan’s guards—and it forces you to mix up your moves. Plus, that catchy soundtrack really amps up the tension when you’re down to your last heart. There’s an old-school difficulty spike in the later stages, but that only makes it more satisfying when you finally best Jafar and claim your victory.

Looking back, Aladdin still feels like a great excuse to revisit that magical world. It’s quick to pick up but takes a bit of practice to master, which keeps you coming back for more. If you ever find yourself wanting a blend of fairytale fantasy and solid platforming, it’s worth dusting off your old console or firing up a classic collection. You’ll be grinning from ear to ear by the time you slide through those palace gates one more time.
