Puppet Soccer Champions turns club football into quick one-on-one matches. Instead of controlling eleven players, you take charge of a single cartoon footballer with an oversized head.
Your puppet handles everything.
You need to attack, shoot, defend, jump for high balls, and protect your own goal with the same character.
The game features a selection of major European clubs and lets you enter a championship with recognizable football stars recreated as funny puppet characters. One version features 32 European clubs and more than 90 footballer characters.
Keep Up With the Bouncing Ball
The field is small, so the ball can move from one goal to the other in seconds.
Arrow keys move your player. Up makes the puppet jump, while Space kicks the ball.
Jumping is useful because the oversized head can block high shots or redirect the ball toward the other side.
Timing the kick also matters.
A strong shot from a bad position may bounce directly back toward your goal. Moving into a better angle can give you a much cleaner chance to score.
Unlock Players and Improve Their Skills
Winning matches gives you a way to progress beyond the current game.
You can earn money, gain access to more footballers, and improve players as you continue through the championship.
Different characters have their own strengths, so improving your collection can make later opponents easier to handle.
The large group of puppet stars gives you plenty of choices instead of forcing you to use the same footballer for every match.
Expect Strange Power-Ups
Normal football rules do not control everything in Puppet Soccer Champions.
Special effects can cover parts of the pitch with things such as slime, ice, or gum. These bonuses can interfere with movement and suddenly change the direction of a match.
A player who controls the ball comfortably can lose the advantage after one unexpected effect.
That unpredictability fits the exaggerated puppet style.
