Mario Bros. 3 published in 1990 for the nintendo NES is often hailed as one of the greatest video games of all time. This installment brought back the traditional gameplay of Super Mario Bros but added new elements that greatly expanded the series’ formula. Players navigate eight worlds each with its own theme and unique challenges on a quest to save Princess Toadstool from Bowser and his children the Koopalings.
Several new power-ups were introduced in The game including The Super Leaf which gives Mario a raccoon Suit enabling him to fly for short periods The Frog Suit which improves underwater control and The Tanooki Suit which allows Mario to turn into a statue. These power-ups added depth and variety to the game allowing different approaches to levels. The game introduced a world map for each of The eight worlds a feature that added a sense of progression and exploration to The game.
